Energy Efficiency was the Client's key motivation in the building design with many innovative ideas to enhance the overall energy efficiency of the buildings operations. The innovative ideas included solar panels, solar sun flowers for public art and for a future public electric car and bike charging point, double glazing, insulated bondor roof panels, a green powercircuit, electric car recharge points, purge fans and responsive air conditioning, the use of natural light, green planter walls, a bike facility, upside down blinds and a grey water retention system to name a few of the innovative ideas. With a team approach from the Architect, Engineer and all trades Mercedes Construction was able to build this Energy Efficient building for the Client.
